Toddler Group
A warm, playful, bilingual environment where toddlers grow, discover, and develop through play. Maximum 15 children per morning, 2-5 mornings per week.
Toddler Group (Peuterspeelzaal)
In our toddler group, our youngest learners discover the world at their own pace, in a safe and familiar environment. We welcome toddlers from one and a half years old, two to five mornings per week, in a small group of maximum fifteen children.
Through play, we work on independence, social skills, and language development. Toddlers learn to put on their own coats, tidy up, take turns, and work together with others; important first steps toward primary school. In conversations, stories, and play, both Dutch and English receive plenty of attention, allowing children to build a rich vocabulary in a natural way.
Movement and discovery are central: during outdoor play, toddler gym, and, weather permitting, even at the weekly toddler swimming with their own teacher. Creativity also gets space. The toddlers experiment with paint, clay, scissors, and paper and learn different techniques.
We carefully follow their development with the KIJK! observation system and work with themes from the International Early Years Curriculum (IEYC). This way, the activities connect with the world of young children and prepare them through play for groups 1 and 2. Toddlers move on to group 0/1 when they turn 4.
In short: our toddler education lays a warm, playful, and solid foundation for a lifetime of learning.

What parents say
Stories from our toddler group
“The Dutch School Nairobi provided a warm and supportive environment for our bilingual children from day one. The teachers took the time to understand each child's unique personality and supported their transition with great care and patience. Thanks to their thoughtful approach, both of our children have grown into confident, happy, and playful learners who truly enjoy going to school.”
